Aurilia Village - Post CU

I was in the village, hoping to kill some of these Sith Pirates and Sith Thugs to earn some more experience. The Sith Thugs used to be extremely tough to kill, it takes a group of 4-5 people around 5 minutes to kill one, due to that they have very high HAM(50K) and very high resistence. I thought it will be very good experience for we to fight those.

But I was wrong. They are now rated 77-78, and I'm 80, so I wasn't credited with alot of experiences. The Sith Pirates and Sith Shadows are even worse, 2xp, it's really laughable, but, it's hard for me to laugh... However, it's good for the people just recently discovered their force sensitivity. So lucky...

Pride is of the Dark Side

I must be cursed or something ... I was called to duty again by the Village to help some Jedi Knight to capture a Sith Commander. The Jedi Knight thinks she's so almighty and powerful. She thinks since she can solo hunt a Krayt Dragon, so she can take care of this quickly, all she needed was some directions and pointers. In the end she admitted that it's a lot harder than she thought. Because of her recklessness and pride, I'm the one ended up got killed so many times. After we captured the commander, her pride took over again. She ingored my advice of avoiding any spiders... in the end, guess what? The commander got poisoned and died on the way back to village. All my death became meaningless... Watch out Jedi lady, don't get seduced by the Dark Side ... I was wounded badly after so many death, although I was cloned, but they were unable to save my legs - so they fitted me with some cheap cybernetic legs... Wait, they look familiar, it looks just like the ones on the battle droids from the Clone War era ...



I'm not a fun of implants, so I want them removed. The medical centers are all empty, but I was lucky to find a cybernetic specialist on the first floor of the medical center in Coronet. I want them removed, and create new ones from my old clone sample. He did a pretty good job, except my new legs seem to be a little hairier than before. Hmmm, if I keep getting new legs, will they become hairier and hairier? Boy, I don't really want to become like Chewie... Anyway, I'm just glad I got my own legs back.

I, Master(?) Rifleman

The TKM is so useless now, so, I tried out Pikeman, Carbineer and Rifleman, and finally settled becoming a Master Rifleman(but, I'm still a nerf herder...), Chiv will be happy to know that I took up his profession. But, I'm not completely gave up on the art of Teräs Käsi, I still retain the meditation skills, it's really handy that for healling wounds, now that you can't find a Dcotor any more in a medical center.



Look how empty it is now in the Medical Center in Coronet - it used to teeming with doctors, nurses and patients.

Jedi sighting

Not exactly Jedi sighting, but hunting with Jedi. Look those light sabers ... I want one. Although the Empire is hunting them down, but we rebels protect them.

My new toys

Due to the recent rebel victories, these miniature model of X-Wing is very popular amongst the people synpathetic towards the Rebellion, not to mention help raise the fund need for the Rebellion, like weapons, base, repair etc.



Of course, how can we forget about the golden rod - Princess Leia's protocol droid C3PO.

Doing my best

Imperial lies, lies and lies. I've done my best at adopting the new rules and regulations, but I can not find myself agree with what's been said by them.

The combat is slow at best. Instead of use the your same best move over and over again, now I need to use 2 different moves, keep alternate between an uber and a less uber move. Combat is NOT fast paced and engaging. The people who used to feel heroic can no longer adventure solo, not that big of a deal ... Different professionals are supposed to be more distinctive, not so, regardless of member profession, a group can still take a job and kill animals quickly. Combat role, what combat role?! Now, we just gang on the animal one at a time, who needs the role?! Pfff... Pick your profession, whatever it is, as long as you can shoot or hit, you're all set. The way it's going, Bol will soon become extinction. May the Force bring us the balance.

I, Nerf Herder

After a few days of hard work, I finally became a Master Commando. And am finally able to equip and use my beloved Plasma Flame Thrower (was Flame Thrower) ...



However, I no longer found any joy using the flame thrower ... or wear my title proudly ... My BFG used to have massive of ~1k damage on the stats - and does ~10K damage in reality, now reduced to a pea shooter that does ~300 damage in reality. And I paid cold hard credits for 3 of these, what a waste! So much for the title of Master Commando ... slap my ass and call me Nerf Herder instead ...

I felt a great disturbance in the Force

As if millions of voices suddently cried out in terror and suddently silenced.

Weapons

This is a side by side comparison of the exact same Flame Thrower of pre and post CU. The stats on the left is pre CU, and post CU is on the right.
The speed has been improved, damage stayed about the same, "looks" like a better Flame Thrower. However, am I'm not sure about it, since my Vibro Knuckler has definitely been nerfed, and I have a dozen of them in my basement ... I've heard some master weaponsmith and tailed lost millions of credits due to the specification change...



Just by my luck, I found some new weapon on the blackmarket. This Massassi Knuckler is based on some design belongs to the long lost Massassi civilization on Yavin 4. It's comparable to the old Vibro Knuckler.



The Blaster Fist looks realy good! But than again, I haven't got a chance to try it out. And how it fares in a real combat situation is yet to be know.

Try I must...

Giving it another try...it's only a level 69 Graul Mauler, one level below me .. But who would thought that not only it incapacitated me, but it also killed me from distance that's too far away even for my Launcher Pistol. It must've used force or something... But the thing most infuriated me is that I barely scratched it... what the hell!?



The lack of hunter and adventurer on Dantooin has caused a wild life population explosion.



Wild animals multipled at an astonishing rate without the balance of hunting, at this rate, the animals will soon run out of food to eat, and starving to death. The carnivorous animal will turn on people more and more. Not only the wild animals are out of control, but also the natives like Janta and Mokk are now grow into small armies ...



The only population reduction is the number of hunters. The cantina owner is more than pessimistic about the business, and I can see why. There're more entertainers than customers. This is not even in the VIP room!

Second impression of CU

Back to Dantooin, got a job to hunt down some Quenkers. They're no match for me NOT! They used to be a push over for me ... somehow, they're dealy now ... I must've gotten really fat and slow, and an old fart now ... boy, how I reget visiting the cantina and drinking brandy too often and too much ... My level is 70 according to the combat analysis system, and the Quenker is 78! Yeah! I SUCK!


Well, how about try the Krayt Dragons?



I really don't get this!!! My brain must be soft and mushy... The combat analysis shows the Juvenile Canyon Krayt Dragon as level 60, and a Canyon Krayt Dragon as level 64! Hmmm, so I tried a few. Yeah! I ROCK!

And some stupid dragon scales, tissues and this pile of strange Advanced Assault Core .. whatever it is ...



Must be my lucky day! One of the dragon destroyed my swoop ... try to prevent me from run away? They're getting smarter ... ?



This one got away, while I was taking a nap ... well, it killed me actually. But hell, I can solo a Canyon Krayt Dragon... but can't handle a Quenker?! WTF!!! And a Quenker is considered 8 levels higher than a Gaint Canyon Krayt Dragon!? This is a new f***ing brave galaxy alright ... And some bullshit legend that the dragon is the most fearsome animal in the galaxy, pffff, they got it so wrong ... I bet the Nuna is the most fearsome animal! Yeah, I'M SO CONFUSED! :-/

The summary:
1) The Acid Rifle is quite useless, it constantly splash back to blind me, what the heck?! And it doesn't really do much damage. So I used my TKM skills, my good 'ol VK sure killes faster than the Acid Rifle. Rephrase that, I couldn't kill a Dune Lizard with Acid Rifle, it nearly killed me, so I had to switch to VK.
2) However, I noticed even with the VK, I still don't do much damage. So I took off the VK to fight with my bare hand. BE HOLD! My bare hands can do more damage than the Vibro Knuckler! I never realized I'm capable of that! Very interesting indeed.
3) Anyways, the combat is actually slower now.
4) The control system is so colourful however also so meaningless. I had no idea what each icon represents, no idea the queue I had planned. It's disgusting ...
5) Not to mention the effects, what the hell with mount/dismount the swoop?!
6) What the hell with the skills like: root, snare, cloak, etc... dungeons and dragons?
7) Last, but not the least, what the hack with the targeting?! Not showing me which one's attacking me, how'd locate my target? And how do I figure out which one should I attack when there're multuple ones? This is ridiculous!

Finally, of the impressions of the Krayt hunters ... Rebel and Imperials alike, they're a bunch of kill stealing assholes!!! I run into a bunch of them, only one has some common decency. I'm SO dispointed of them. The CU brought out the worst in everyone!

Personally, so far, I don't have a very high opinion of the CU.

Need a weapon!

Tring to get myself a new Commando weapon, I had to go from planet to planet, asked(more of a begging actually) every contact I have. The Dantooin is practically empty of people, I had to go to Coreallia. This is Coronet, a ship just landed, nobody getting on and nobody egtting off... so quiet, I can hear a snail crawl on the wall.


Nothing on Coreallia, someone pointed me to Naboo. So, here I am in Theed, it's just feel so weird with nobody around. No passengers rushing around, no venders selling theirs wares, no locals sipping stimcaf in side street. Only good sign I see is that now it's under the controll of Rebellion.



My lead proved to be right, finally gotten my hands on a Heavy Acid Rifle. Here I go, some live target practice is needed ...

End of the Galaxies...? - First impression of CU

Well, the "Combat Downgrade", as some call it, is finally here! I went into town in Mining Outpost on Dantooin, the normally busy spaceport is deserted, only a handful brave people were arounding wondering aimlessly, looking discussed and confused, nobody 's in any particular good mood. Event the cantina is devoid of the usual entertainers ... my favorate ones are not there any more...

I'm still TKM and Command, BUT ... I can't no longer use my Flamethrowers. Heavy weapons are harder to come by before, now, it's even harder to find a weapon I can use! I'm weaponless as of now, how am I supposed to practice and reach Master Commando?! I wouldn't mind if it does less damages or whatever change... but, I can't even equip the damn thing now. WTF! All the Flamethrowers I bought to grind out to Master are now useless to me.

The combat is supposed to be faster paced and more engaging, it's not so. I killed a Piket, and it took me minutes to just kill a single that's suggest as even level to me. Also witnessed a few dueling in MO, they're just stand there, fight each other every a few seconds ... they call it fast?! However, I did notice I'm hit less frequent. On the other hand, I hit less frequent as well ...

Am not saying this is the end, but, you be the judge ... The Holonet forums are buzzing with messages, here're a few good ones:

lvl 198 voritor lizards and huurton stalkers? any chance this isn't intended? saw another stalker pack and they were all lvl 25.. making them lower lvl than a huurton pup now (27 apparently)... 1 hit incap while riding by.. 11k damage on my mere lvl 58... no really, this is great.. these things spawn in my yard 20m from my door on a regular basis!! when one makes it's home under my porch what do I do? not leave the house or leave my yard by way of the cloner? no really the CU was/is ready for live, honest -_-

I am jedi driving by and just one quenker knocked me off my bike and incapped me with 1 hit. I had 3k health.
I remember joking with some people online about 1 week before this CU went live.
I said we will nee a group of people to hunt kreetles.
I was wrong. We would actually need a NPC dark Jedi Master to kill the kreetles.
If 1 DJK can not kill a hurton I wonder if there are enough people who play the game to get enough groups together to kill a Corellian butterfly?

and while I'm good and pissed off how about the 2million credits + worth of petstims crafted prior to the curb(stomp) that are now ZERO power... any word on how I got the shaft there ? the 1 minute timer on the crap people stims I made just to try it out (108 heal on a B but granted I didn't use the absolute best resources and need to relearn what stats matter on medical components) any chance one minute might be a bit overboard? huurton pups being ONE lvl lower than huurton matrons (pups look full grown now apparently)... my lvl 19 BE pet that became lvl 166 when I idiotically chose to adjust his level thinking how high can it go?( don't recall seeing any mention at all of that gem of a little popup prior to the curb(STOMP) either.. thanks for ruining my pets, my merchandise, my profession and my livelihood( static trade of factories on dant that I have to run a gauntlet of plain old voritor lizards on steroids to even get to in my backyard now) ohh and for the icing on this cake all my waypoints being gone.. I have a million credits worth of heavy mineral harvs SOMEWHERE in the eastern part of dant.. guess I'll just randomly cruise around and look for them.. who knows maybe I can ask a lvl 198 GD voritor for directions

Here was first impression... on Dantooine:

TKM/MDoc (classified as lvl80) riding by... I get aggro'd by a voritor lizard (lvl70)

- he spits on me... and hits for around 25-50pts

- I jump off and decide to kick his butt

- a fight insues and I am there for 15min --> granted he was hurting me and I was hurting him, but neither of us was making much progress

- finally got acouple of decent hits (around 180pts) and I start making a dent... finally I finish him off after 20min.

- See this just goes to show you that the DEVs were on the ball with this.

Well, we'll see ... The Empire is changing the combat rules.... I've heard both good and bad things about the system, guess I'll just have to wait it out and try it ... Last night, I spent hours connecting to the Holonet to download the new rules and regulations... However, my confidence level is not very high, due to the the last economy change they made ... Nothing's changed, except the poor become poorer, and the rich become richer... Only getting 2k for a big ass 30k+ job I completed, even experienc-wise, there's virtually no difference between join a hunting party and solo. So, I've been doing jobs solo lately, 8-10k a pop, not too bad. But, those Imperialists are having a huge adventage, I regularly seeing AT-STs parked in town ... the Imperalists are getting richer and richer ...

Chiv has been a good Rebel soldier, but he does not believe in the Force nor the Teräs Käsi meditation. He'd rather trust his T21 Rifle than "some ancient hoaky stuff", yeah, that's his exact words.

Whenever I mediatte, he always shake his head and say "You and your meditation ...". I find his lack of faith disturbing ... When asked if he can cure poison with his T21, he started to waiver... So I took him to see the Jedi hermit Drakka Judarrl near the Jedi Temple ruins, not to start him down the path of Force, but to make him a believer at least ... He's absolutely fascinate by the Jedi Holocron. Well, this is a good start.

Imperial conspiracy

After searching through dozens of dead Imperials, I noticed something strange ...

Do you see a pattern there? They all have DOT(Damage Over Time) poison on it! This is just a small sample of the weapons I found on them, there are alot more weapons I found on them has DOT! Although these are pretty basic weapons, but, once they have the DOT, it changes the picture entirely. The Rebellion need to to know this, and be prepared.

Hunt down the Imperials

Went with Chiv and did some Imperial hunting yesterday. We was able to hunting down some tough ones that I usually not able to do just by myself. These guys usually hang out around the local Imperial Headquarters. The Turrets are something to consider, best to lead the target away and outside the turret firing range, otherwise you'll have a hard time - we learned that yesterday. Also, some backup helps too.



Even though just a Corporal, but his combat experience made him a formidable opponent.

What can I say, I have such magnetic personality, Imperials are attracted to me like flies are attracted to the bantha poodle ... what's that smell ...?

Silly me, of course not, there's no "Glory Class" Star Destroyer, not that I know of. Despite their silly name, they are actually quite tough, approach with caution.


Yet another piece of Imperial propaganda, there WILL BE "divisions" until the evil Empire is taken down. We shall prevail!


I did such a good job, the rebel Ground Marshall was very impressed and double promoted me to Second Lieutenant! It's unprecedented! This is such an honour. "Congratulations Lieutenant! Keep up the good work. The Rebellion need good people like you. And, may the Force be with you." "Yes Sir! Thank you, Sir!"


As a side benefit, my Commando skills have improved vastly, only a few more steps away...

Promotion!

I feel like paying the local Imperial garrison a visit...anybody home?


Yeah, there were a lot of Imperial officers. I was their center of the focus, I like getting all the attentions. See ya all...


The Elite Imperial Master Sergeant is quite tough, though not as bad as an Elite NovaTrooper, he's helluva tougher than any other Imperials I came across. Although they have low resistence to everything, but their armor and high HAM are more than compensated for it, I was supprised at how long it took me to kill one. Also watch out for the Imperial Comm Specialists.


Got a Vader poster, it says "Victory through conform", lies, lies, and lies! In another word, they want us to surrender our freedom, not a chance!


Also found a Wanted poster of that old priate Han Solo, watch out Solo, no more bar brawls, keep low.


Princess Leia is also on the list, that figures... Well, they must be the most troublesome couple in the galaxy...


Well, I went back to the VIP room again, no, I'm not addicted. I have good reason - to celebrate my promotion to the rank of Warrant Officer II! I worked so hard tonight killing Imperials, my next promotion should be really soon, like tomorrow... Chiv can't boss me around now, hehe :)
